As the end date of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development approaches, the 2026 Regional Forum will aim at accelerating SDG progress and maintaining momentum for innovative policies and solutions.

Aligned with the 2026 High-level Political Forum (HLPF), it will review SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cites and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The event will feature:

• High-level and plenary segments under the title “Transforming together: innovative and equitable action for the SDGs”.

• Peer learning round tables covering the SDGs under review.

What is the process?

Each year, the RFSD serves as the region’s official input to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the UN’s main platform for global follow-up on the 2030 Agenda. The report from the 2026 RFSD will document regional progress, challenges, and policy recommendations, contributing to the HLPF’s overarching review of SDG progress worldwide.

How can you get engaged?

The 2026 Regional Forum will take place on 21 and 22 April 2026 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva in person (no remote connections) and will provide an opportunity to network on sustainable development issues. More detailed information on the programme, registration and logistics will be made available in due course.
